Open daily from 9.30am, the Show is growing in popularity with visitors treated to the best WA has to offer from rare and unusual plants, sustainability and environmental solutions to designer outdoor furniture and custom made alfresco kitchens.

As a first for Garden Week, the Show will see relative newcomer to the WA landscape and outdoor furniture market Eco Outdoor showcase their Outdeco’s Gardenscreen range that can be used as backlit features, privacy screens, wall art or grand alfresco transformations. Also to be seen at Garden Week will be Clearpond, designers of fascinating garden ponds and water features for private homes and large commercial fountain displays.

Perth’s up and coming landscapers from Challenger TAFE and members of WALDA will create four stunning, yet functional outdoor sanctuary displays that must not only survive – but thrive, in Perth’s changing climate conditions and our diminishing water supply.

The all star line up of talented chefs including Adrian Tobin from Hospitality Wise, Vince Gareffa from Mondo Butchers, Telina Menzies from the Publican Group, Theo Kalogeracos from Little Caesars Pizzeria and Chris Taylor from Frasers will be cooking a range of dishes from pizza to seafood, all complimented by fresh herbs, vegetables and fruits straight from the garden on an alfresco kitchen custom made by Ferguson Corporation.

Trees and the important role they play in keeping Perth cool through the hot summers will also be key messages presented throughout the five day gardening event. Not only do trees bring alive a garden, but they help to keep it cool. On a summer day our roads and paving may reach a sweltering 45 – 60 degrees, while a shady patch under a tree might be as low as 17 degrees.

Garden Week 2012 will also see a collaboration between The Organic Growers Association of WA, Permaculture West, Community Gardening Groups and a number of Perth businesses, presenting the “Sustainability Square”. The Square will see a range of guest speakers daily with topics such as composting, keeping live worms, waterwise gardens, native plants, growing your own produce and something on every gardeners list, how to improve Perth’s poor sandy soils.

Proudly supported by major sponsor Water Corporation, Garden Week 2012 will showcase beautiful garden displays, the latest in garden trends, specialist growers to talk to, new products, outdoor living and thousands of plants to buy and take home. There will also be a special focus on trees and roses and plenty of free entertainment and activities for the kids during school holidays.
