There are so many different varieties of tomatoes available to plant now.

Your local nursery has punnets or trays with several types ranging from red, green, yellow and black and including Cherry, Roma, Burke’s Backyard and Black Russian to name but a few.

5 Tips For Growing Tomatoes:

1. Plant in a sunny spot with lots of air circulation
2. Keep soil moist – neither wet nor dry
3. Avoid watering the foliage as this may lead to fungal problems
4. Companion plant with Basil
5. Pick fruits as they ripen

It is such a joy to pick food from your garden and serve it up to your family. You can’t get healthier or fresher than that!
